The connection between Kundalini yoga and the snake story
is found in Hindu mythology, where the snake is often
associated with Kundalini shakti. Shakti means power,
energy, or force. Mythologically, Shakti is always described as feminine, often personified as the goddess, Devi, the
divine feminine consort of the divine masculine god Shiva. But at the deepest level,
Shakti transcends gender. This energy is represented by a snake , the dormant life force at the base of the spine.
Kundalini yoga helps to invigorate and activate this energy so that it can rise through our chakras (energy centers). In this symbolism, the snake is seen as a symbol of transformation and spiritual awakening.
