Shakti means power, energy, or strength.
In mythology, Shakti is often depicted as feminine, frequently personified as the goddess Devi, the consort of Shiva. However, on a deeper level, Shakti transcends gender.
Kundalini yoga helps activate this energy so that it can rise through our chakras. The serpent, a symbol of transformation and spiritual awakening, represents this energy's potential to rise and awaken.
