The Designer
From the imagined journeys sitting in front of her grandmother’s jewellery box, Dorothée Sausset went on to embrace various lives and different continents. Starting with Madrid and then London, she set her heart on Cuba for a long while. She is still very sensitive to the island’s culture today. In the course of her travels, jewellery took on a special place.
In 2004, Dorothée sets up an agent office in New Delhi. She specialised in accessories for prestigious brands. Her experiences inspired Dorothée to create jewellery with meaning that tell her own stories.
In 2018 she launched her own brand and her first collection « Holistic Story ». She is inspired by yoga as a source of balance and well-being and this philosophy influences the sacred in her collections.
Savoir-Faire
The jewellery is made of 18k gold-plated brass or silver in a renowned traditional workshop in Jaipur, the mythical capital of Rajasthan. Dorothée Sausset spends many hours with the craftsmen, whom she has grown to know and understand. Carrying on a family tradition, they come from Bengal, a region that excels in jewellery refinement. Appreciative of lithotherapy, the art of healing with crystals, she carefully selects each stone depending on their energy. She then assembles them to bring a piece of jewellery to life. Some pieces in the collections are crafted entirely by hand.
